Description
The Alphabet book uses the same embedded images that are used in the Multisensory Reading Level 1 book, making it a good introductory alphabet book for young children.
Each letter is associated with a picture that begins with the sound of the letter and has some association with the shape of the letter. For example, the letter ‘a’ can be changed to look like an apple by covering it in red and adding on some leaves – /a/ apple. There is also a large illustration of the key picture cue and an activity that you can do with your child that is associated with the letter and the key picture.
Each page includes a lower and uppercase version of the letter plus 4 additional pictures beginning with the sound of the letter. The words accompanying each picture begin with the relevant letter but in different colours. Children can be helped to identify the colour of each of these letters.
Across the top of each page there are multiple items of another picture that begins with the sound of the letter. As an additional activity, you can help your child count these objects.
