Alphabet Word Changer Set 1

Description

The Alphabet Word Changer comes in two printable pdf packs.   The first pack consists of 27 word changers in which the initial letter changes to form new words.  

Each word formed by the Word Changer can be sounded out.  The Word Changer provide practice in recognising the sounds of the alphabet as well as applying that knowledge by blending the sounds into words.

Using the Word Changer is an effective strategy for helping children develop their auditory processing and phonological awareness skills.  These skills, along with an understanding of the ‘alphabet code’ are the building blocks to proficient reading and spelling.
